I might be in Love, with a Supper Club

Found via Greer's OC, Show: The Supper Club is an event going on every Friday at a Bar and lounge called Code in Newport Beach. The same individuals that reign over Ten and Tentations have brought in Lori Brystan, former Elite model, well known photographer and all round creative type.. in other words.. my kind of girl! To produce what they are calling "blends of music, dance and entertainment from the worlds most memorable eras... Show is art, legend and style, old and new" As you may know, I'm a sucker for burlesque, dance, girly costumes, swing music and 30's era inspiration! On my list of things to do before I die;
Be THAT girl that lowers from the ceiling on a swing in a tight sparkly outfit.
Places like The Edison downtown and Show allow my imagination to being me one step closer to that cheesy, yet glam day dream. Give me red lipstick and a feather hat! Give me a boy in the band and tapping feet! I want an old fashioned good time where people dance in step with eachother! A crooner in a fedora and a white walled car with some class!
Oh boy! Show, Here I come!!!!

Some-Ting Interes-Ting

When I was young, my mother had a leather kit. I was really enthralled with the thick hardy hand and loved pounding away with the mallet and tools to make little designs on scrap pieces of old leather. I never got very far with it, but I do remember a belt for Dad during father's day and a coin purse for mom. Hey, at least that's better then the clay flowers pins I decided I was going to sell in elementary school....yeah, something only a grandmother could love..... anyway, point being, leather is intriguing. You want to touch it... it can be glam, country, rock-n-roll or... VINTAGE!
Like this Leather Belt Floor Mat from a London company called Ting, after designer Inghua Ting. Checkout the website to see amazing eco-friendly leather belt floor tiles as well! I think it's the perfect masculine touch for a room. The breadth of colors on each would be unique and rich in it's own way. Find out more or purchase at the Branch Home website... another interesting site I found as I was clicking around today.

My Apartment is my therapy

Not to be confused with this popular site.... I really mean it when I say that my apartment brings me peace and joy and quiet to my brain. I'm still not completely out of boxes, but tinkering around while I sort laundry, organize socks and pack pantry shelves really makes me feel productive. Nesting has very positive results on my psyche. :) Here is a little update. We put this little rack over the top of the stove and I grabbed some flowers from Trader Joe's..... uncanny bliss.

Also see her work on the cover of this month's LA Weekly! Good luck in the future Star, I know you will go far!!!
