Hollywood if she could.....

Wild Wednesday:
Buckle your seat belts! We went to the Autoclub Speedway's Pepsi 500 at the Tropicana Pool Bar at the Roosevelt Hotel. One of my lovely girlfriends invited us to attend this amazing party with her and I was completely blown away. I thought we were going to just have a few drinks, I was told the dress was casual. I show up behind a Ferrari and to a "blue" (for Pepsi) carpet! Can you say "Hollywooooooooooood!" It's been quite awhile since I made to event like this one and the great thing about LA is that you never know who you are going to run into. Can I just drop a few names here? Dale Earnhardt Jr. (plink), Jeff Gordon (plink), Melissa Joan Hart, Balthazar Getty, Skeet Ulrich, (plink, plink, plink), Audrina Patridge (plink), just to name a few. Although, per usual, what made this party the best was the chance to hang out with some amazing friends at a great venue... and of course, free cocktails always help too. Here are some pics from our night amongst the world of NASCAR.

One last item I have to cover on this subject...
Let me just preface this by saying that I grew up in Los Angeles, I'm a native. I am used to celebrity sightings and have always prided myself on the fact that I don't ask for autographs or pictures, and I try to let people be. I mean, for heaven's sake! I used to work backstage at the Oscar's and the Emmy's. I've run into the likes of Nicole Kidman, Cuba Gooding Jr., Salma Hayek, Will Smith, Sean Connery (plink, plink, plink, plink, PLINK). However..... here I am at the NASCAR owners party, laughing with my friends, and through the crowd comes Mr. Ben Covington from my absolutely favorite TV show EVER, Felicity. Otherwise known as Scott Speedman in the real world. I practically fall over (I'm going to blame that on the wine) and my ladylike capabilities go out the door! I am now a giggly little school girl, in full blush and fiddling with my skirt. Where is my charm and grace? Gone. Where is my ability to speak without stuttering? Gone. My boyfriend practically pushes me into Scott's lap and proceeds to embarrass me to no end. Fully enjoying every minute of my obviously uncomfortable and awkward girlish crush.

I didn't get to properly say goodbye nor was I able to put together a decent conversation, so I would like to say to you Mr. Speedman;
"Thank you so much for taking the time to humor a girl lost in a world from years ago. I truly appreciate your ease and humor in the situation. The show Felicity got me through some tough times in my college years when it originally aired. It is the most beautifully shot TV show I have ever watched. Felicity is still the DVD I reach for on difficult days.
P.S. I adore your boyish smile. For once in my life, I can actually say that I am a true fan. As much as I can't believe it, I'm a fan that will actually get up and ask for a photo and invade your life for a moment. Thanks again."
The music in this series was also amazing. you can find a few examples from composer Danny Pelfrey HERE. Also, If you have never seen the show, here are a few clips from Felicity.
Enjoy!

I Love you LA. Goodnight.

  1. I love your story about Scott. I've met a few times and he is the nicest, sweetest guy and beyond gorgeous. Great picture of the two of you.
