Hotel Cafe music benefit for Larchmont Charter school

I conjured up some last minute monday night energy and went out with PoYan to the Hotel cafe last night. Truth be told, I was not in the mood....the only thing that was keeping me strong was the thought of hearing Sara Bareilles live. (I might be obsessed with a few of her songs....they can make my worst day worth barring) Boy, was I in for a surprise!!! It turns out, it was a benefit event for the Larchmont Charter school, which I had never heard of till last night, and which I now assume only extremely talented (or connected) parents have children attending this school.
I was absolutely blown away by the caliber of artists performing. I would buy an album from each and every artist who got up on stage last night. In fact, scroll down past the pics. I did research for you and found the websites of many that were part of the show. Seriously! Go Look, learn, listen and love it like I do!!! My only gripe is that I'm sure last nightly was doubly stellar since many of the artists contributed to eachother's songs and the harmonies are still ringing in my ears. I'm sure the albums and websites only have the one man band variety - still worthy, but not as heart wrenching as the live versions. Of course this is my assumption, I might plead a different case once I get around to listening to all the published recordings... So just go see them live and maybe, just maybe you will get to hear the lovely sounds we heard last night. Thanks for the lovely night all and I hope to see you all again soon!

Thanks Po for the invite!!

  1. Playing live music in a hotel for a cause would surely be a great way to entertain those generous hearts who are willing to offer some help.
